When should I take my baby to the dentist?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend the first dental visit at six months or when the first teeth erupt.

How often do I need to brush and floss my teeth?
It’s recommended that you brush your child’s teeth twice a day. The most important time being right before bed. You should also floss any teeth that are touching.

Why do my child’s adult teeth look more yellow than the baby teeth?
Adult teeth have more dentin which can make them look more yellow. The differences are more apparent when baby teeth and adult teeth are next to each other.compared to the permantet teeth.

How come my child has not lost any teeth and his/her friends have?
There is a large variation of when a child looses his or her first tooth. According to textbooks the average age to start getting/loosing teeth is 6 years old. However anywhere from 4 to 8 is still considered normal. Sometimes an extra tooth can prevent an adult tooth from erupting. When there is a concern its best to have an evaluation by a dentist.

Why does my child need a crown?
Baby teeth are small and therefore have greater forces placed on them and therefore they can chip and break easily. A crown is recommend to prevent the tooth from breaking by encapsulate the remaining tooth structure.
